Iran – Afghanistan border tension | Tanks moving to Iran border

Following the verbal tension between the Islamic Republic and the Taliban in Islam Qala, the forces of this group with heavy military equipment have been deployed on the border of Iran.

Videos received by local news channels show that a convoy of Taliban tanks is moving from Herat to the Iranian border.

Local sources say that the new tension between the two sides started after the Taliban prevented the construction of a road and the installation of barbed wire by the border guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The pictures and videos on social media shows that the Taliban from Herat’s 207th Al-Farooq Corps are moving towards Islam Qala with advanced military equipment.

Sources said that the border forces of the Taliban and border guards of the Islamic Republic entered into verbal tension on the border of Islam Qala on Friday (9th of Gemini).

Following the publication of the report of sending Taliban forces to Islam Qala, the media of the Islamic Republic of Iran wrote on Tuesday night that the situation on the border of Islam Qala is calm.

The Tasnim news agency, affiliated to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, denied any tension between the Taliban and the border guards of the Islamic Republic in this border area.

On Tuesday night, the 9th of Juza, reports were published that traders have evacuated oil and freight cars from Islam Qala customs and also from Dogharon.

However, Taliban officials have not officially commented on sending troops to the border of Islam Qala.

The tension is happening at the border of Islam Qala when the Taliban and border guards of the Islamic Republic clashed recently in Nimroz.
