The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, said that efforts are underway for certain countries to reopen their embassies in Kabul in the coming days.
Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, has announced that efforts are being made to reopen more embassies in Kabul in the near future. Muttaqi stated that the reopening of embassies in Kabul would reflect recognition of the Islamic Emirate and underscored the need for diplomatic relations with other countries. He also mentioned that some countries have already recognized the interim Afghan government without an official announcement. The political analysts have said that the reopening of embassies in Kabul will have a positive impact on the caretaker government. While officials of the Islamic Emirate have expressed their willingness to engage with the international community, no country has officially recognized it yet.
According to Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, the embassies of neighboring countries including China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Pakistan are currently open in Kabul. Additionally, the embassies of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia have also been opened in the city. Muttaqi further stated that the embassies of India, Turkey, Qatar, and the UAE are already operational in Kabul, while the embassy of Saudi Arabia is also open and its diplomats may return soon.
Muttaqi said that the reopening of the embassies in Kabul reflects recognition of the Islamic Emirate and that some countries have already recognized the interim Afghan government without an official announcement.
