This is by far the best film Gerard Butler has been in (apart from 300). It is a very solid action film. Unlike most action filmsset in the middle east, the film doesn’t only focus on the ‘hero’, but also those on ‘the other side’. E.g The Pakistani agent, the Iranian officer, who are portrayed with more depth than these films normally allow. Butler’s films are usually lacking any originality, riddled with plot holes. This one does not fall into the same category.
Gerard Butler has made a whole new career out of these types of films. Some are better than others, and this is one of them. There are some really well-done action and suspenseful scenes. The film accurately captures a current day Afghanistan that is a travesty. But rather than portray Iranians, Taliban and ISIS as cartoonish villains, they do a good job of showing the motivations behind their actions. And whether we disagree or not, we can at least understand where each is coming from, which is important if we ever want to find solutions.SHOW LESSFLAG THIS REVIEW
you are looking to a movie that have action and explosions, this one is for you, I watched and was ok, this film attend my expectations, but if you are looking for drama or something that have a great story,please watch another film. So I recommend if you want to pass time and relax. :)FLAG THIS REVIEW
Another Review of Kandahar Movie
Kandahar is an action film about an undercover CIA operative who gets stuck in hostile territory in Afghanistan after his mission is exposed. Accompanied by his translator, he must fight enemy combatants as he tries to reach an extraction point in Kandahar. The best part about this film is that it features the motorcyele I ride - KTM 390 Adventure and heck, Ali Fazal who rides that bike in the film is also sporting the same helmet I wear! The Scorpion Exo AT-950! These 2 things were good enough to keep me engaged! The film is a an explosive ride throughout. The action sequences are very well shot and the the story moved at quite an even pace. This is sort of a film which would engage & entertain everyone. No nonsense action and must be watched without focussing much on the truth! We thoroughly enjoyed it.
